I am very thankful to live in a country where we can still talk openly about
God - I think sometimes I forget how wonderful I have it.

We have our own TV program that allows us to talk freely about the Bible and
what we believe and stand for.

There is an ancient proverb that states, "A gift unacknowledged is a gift
unreceived." I receive many gifts from God, and need to thank Him and to
acknowledge those gifts.

We usually thank God for family, for friends, for food. Perhaps we need to
thank Him for all the things we usually take for granted. The ability to walk.
The ability to see, and to hear.

We need to remember to thank him for His word which is so readily available
to us. We need to remember to thank Him for His Son and for the Home He is
preparing for us in Heaven, if we are faithful to His word.

It is easy to get caught up in the stream of life and forget about these
things.

I spent a long time just thinking about how hard I had it,
and not speaking up to defend my beliefs. And I trace it back to fear.

I didn't think about Heb 13:6
So we may boldly say:

" The LORD is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?"

This could have been an inspiration for me.

There is a story that has to inspire me.
I use this as motivation in my walk with Him.
Acts 16:23-26
23 And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison,
commanding the jailer to keep them securely.
24 Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and
fastened their feet in the stocks.
25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and
the prisoners were listening to them.
26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the
prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's
chains were loosed.
While in prison - praying and singing hymns. Wow!

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus for you.

Rejoice always.
Give thanks in everything...

Sometimes it is hard to rejoice. Hard to see a reason to be thankful.

Most of us have so much to in our lives - but we are here today.
